We are looking forward to welcoming you to the 5th Global Congress on Microwave Energy Applications (5GCMEA 2024).
5GCMEA 2024 will take place at the Shiiki Hall (https://shiiki-hall.kyushu-u.ac.jp/). This is located on the Kyushu University ITO Campus.
Following is some key information for reference, to assist you with your planning. Though this document may be long, please take time to review the information within to ensure you are prepared for the conference.

Schedule and location *please see the full program
Registration will be available on Monday 22nd July in the Shiiki Hall from 8:30 am and will be located on the 1st floor. The registration desk will remain available for the duration of the conference.
All Workshops, Keynote Lecture, Invited Speach and Technical Programs will take place in Shiiki Hall. The poster sessions and exhibition space will be in the Foyer on floors 2.
Workshop
The workshop by Kyushu Univ. and JSPS R024 Committee, which is open to all participants, will take place on Monday, July 22nd, in Room A (Concert Hall).
Oral presentations
Standard oral presentation slots are 20 minutes, including presentation (15 min) and questions (5 min). Session chairs will be strict with timings to ensure that all speakers have an equal opportunity to present their work. The timekeeper will announce 12 minutes (1st bell), 15 minutes (2nd bell), and 19 minutes (3rd bell).
Oral presentations (PowerPoint) must be uploaded in .pptx format (16:9 is preferred) on the desktop (Windows). Speakers will not be able to use their own laptops and must bring along a copy of a USB drive and upload before the session starts
Posters
Similarly, poster presentations must be put up during the Workshop event on Monday 22th July. A reminder that posters must be A0 in size and portrait orientation.
Floor map
Abstract Book, and Collaborating Journals
Attendees at the conference will be provided access to a book of abstracts on 19th July. Selected papers are nominated to submit papers to Frontiers in Chemistry and Catalysis Today.
Award
All the oral presentations except keynote talks & invited talks, and all the poster presentations will be nominated for the 5GCMEA Best Oral Presentation Award and the 5GCMEA Best Poster Presentation Award, respectively. Award winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on Thursday 25th July. Please join the closing ceremony!
Mobile phones and photography
Please, ensure your phone is in silent mode during all sessions. Photography is NOT permitted.
Wi-Fi
Eduroam access is available throughout the venues. Alternatively, attendees can access the Kyushu University visitors Wi-Fi network ‘KITENET’. The SSID and PASSWORD will be announced at the conference site. If you experience any issues, please speak to the staff on the registration desk who will be able to assist you further.
Lunch
Registration fees include morning/afternoon coffee and a buffet lunch for each day of the technical program. Food and drink will be served on floors 2 Foyers (both South and North) of the Shiiki Hall. If you have any allergies or intolerances highlighted during the online registration, these will be accommodated separately; please speak to the catering team, who can assist you further.
Delegates must always wear their badge, especially during coffee and lunch breaks, as only registered participants will be served.
Attendees will be responsible for their own breakfast and dinners. Fukuoka has innumerable restaurants.
